VISITORS WITH REDUCED MOBILITY

The monument is partially accessible to people with reduced mobility. Two wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge upon request from the monument’s reception-ticket office. Folding chairs can be borrowed free of charge upon request from reception and security staff in Ledoux Museum and the Director’s House.

 

VISITORS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY

An “easy-to-read” guide of the Saline royale, the “Salt Stories” exhibition and the Ledoux museum can be borrowed upon request from the monument’s reception-ticket office.

 

BLIND AND VISUALLY-IMPAIRED VISITORS

Guide dogs are permitted inside the buildings. Braille and relief models of the monument are on display at reception. A visitor guide of the Saline royale in large print, and magnifying glasses (4x, 6x, 10x and 12x magnification, illuminated or not) can be borrowed upon request from the ticket office.

 

DEAF AND HEARING-IMPAIRED VISITORS

The reception-ticket office, the gift-bookshop and the hotel reception are fitted with hearing loops. A documentary film called “The Saline royale, a history of salt”, with sub-titles, is shown in the Director’s House in the exhibition on salt. Portable induction loop systems can be borrowed upon request from the reception-ticket office so that you can follow a guided tour of the monument.

 

The HistoPad tablet has a version for disabled visitors, enabling them to visit areas that are not accessible to people with reduced mobility, and a version for deaf and hearing-impaired visitors with subtitles.
