Since the inauguration of the Vast Circle in June 2022, the spaces and plants have gradually come to life thanks to differentiated management of the site to encourage biodiversity at the Saline royale.

 

This new edition of the Gardens Festival is this year dedicated to the theme “Shade and freshness”. From the gentle warmth of spring to the summer sun, through to autumn, the Gardens Festival in the second semi-circle at Saline royale invites its visitors to discover nine new islands of plants, designed by students from French landscaping schools.

 

There are 30 gardens to explore all year round, covering 13 hectares. A fun journey across different moods: meadows, the miscanthus maze, the Jura Arc garden, the garden of dormancy, cryptogames and the edible forest.

Since November 2022, the gardens in the Festival have been created thanks to the work of landscaping students, schools and the gardens team of the Saline royale. This open-air display of plant life showcases a diversity of skills: sculpting, basketry, working with clay, metal or ochre.
