SUNDAY MARCH 22nd

As part of the Tempo XXI programme, the Paris International Music Academy is dedicating an exceptional weekend to contemporary music on 21 and 22 March 2026 at the Saline royale.

This highlight event brings together an intensive workshop and a concert centred on major figures of 20th- and 21st-century music, affirming the central role of contemporary creation in artistic transmission.

Concert programme

The programme offers a broad panorama of contemporary musical aesthetics, from the foundational writing of Luciano Berio and Helmut Lachenmann to the more recent languages of Kaija Saariaho. A world premiere by composer Haodong Wang highlights the Academy’s commitment to young composers and to music in the making. Contemporary French music also holds an important place in the programme, notably through several works by Philippe Hersant, as well as pieces by Thierry Escaich and Florentine Mulsant.

Performers – students of the Paris International Music Academy, from the École Normale de Musique de Paris and the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln: Yu-Chin Ho (piano), Zhuoshi Chen (flute), Guanghui Yang (piano), Aléna Gerard (piano), Camille Renevier (piano), Mathis Calzetta (piano), Hannah Maria Tikka (violin), Jorge Romero (piano), Maïcha García (piano).
