An immersion in UNESCO World Heritage Sites

The inside of the Berne Ouest at the Saline royale comes alive with the magic of light and the movement of monumental images… welcome to the Enlightenment Centre. Enter the heart of this immersive multi-sensory space and contemplate in three dimensions the wealth and immensity of eight UNESCO World Heritage sites.

 

Eight large-format films, on-screen navigation, a 360° experience in the Pavilion of Traditions… as you wander through, you will resonate with the site and its spectacular aura. The sound and light shows offer a rare moment of collective immersion in the heart of the world’s most beautiful monuments and sites: The Pyramids of Giza, the cities of Samarkand, Palmyra, and Venice, the temples of Angkor in Cambodia, etc.

Try the digital experience in the Enlightenment Centre and learn more about world heritage.

 

Between two screenings of 3D reconstructions of the world’s most beautiful UNESCO sites, browse the touch screens. Cross the globe to discover the many other sites on the World Heritage List and travel through centuries of history of properties that are no longer here or are under threat. Discover the age-old traditions and know-how of our civilisations, take a quiz to learn more about the notion of world heritage and the need to protect it.
